I sympathise with these techers' feelings of disillusion and revolt, even though I have managed to jump ship just in time, before losing the shirt off my back....

Hmmm, the English translation doesn't make sense. Are you no longer teaching? Times are sure tough for teachers - here in Canada there are declining enrollments, budget cuts, etc. It's a hard job, and so important.
