Des nouvelles du temps

This afternoon, as usual, I walked to the village to buy bread: but today walking was not just a healthy and environmentally responsible option, which also gives me a chance to rehearse my songs for the choir without inflicting it on the innocent ears of my housemate(s). It was the only reasonable option, with the massive snowfall we had yesterday. Most activities in the area came to a stansdstill, today schools were closed, and even tomorrow no schoolbuses will be running. We spent most of yesterday without electricity, huddled around the fire in the living-room, getting psychologically prepared to spend the night there, and there was a tinge of disappointment when the power came back late afternoon, before it was really dark: it was like not getting permission to camp out when you're a kid.

And also, here is the contents of the pink package that was my contribution to the Journal Swap I took part in (on Ravelry, where else?): my partner, Gladcat, has sent hers, but we haven't seen the postman for the last two days, on account of the snow. She likes purple, I gathered...
